My recent on-line absence could be attributed to an unintended immersion in ornithology. Yep, I’ve been coo-coo cuckoo (thanks, Melissa) these last few weeks.
1. Two weeks ago, I got a visit from a flock of seagulls -- corporate seagulls, that is. Anyone who has ever worked for a multinational knows the type very well. These guys fly in, crap all over the place and fly out, leaving you knee-deep in excrement. Often, you never hear of them again -- until they show up at the most inconvenient time, nosedive into your workplace and crack a proverbial clam on your head, knocking you unconscious. ‘Nuff said.
2. I’m nesting – big time. As with all of my previous pregnancies, I am now overcome with an uncontrollable urge to clean/remodel my house. Every waking moment, my thoughts are filled with paint and fabric swatches. I painted the baby’s room -- including the spare bed, the crib, the shelves and the cabinet – and installed appliqués all over. I changed the doorknob and cabinet handles. I rewired the room and installed the baby monitor. I changed the screen on the windows. I installed new curtain rods. Tomorrow, I’m picking up the new curtains and buying a rocking chair to complete the interiors **grin**. As the whole thing is an after-work/school project for me and my 10-year old, I’ve been too tired to do anything else (like think of blog topics). It’s been really fun though. This weekend, I start repainting the masters’ bedroom.
